With so much technology at our fingertips these days, blogs and Pinterest are the easiest and quickest places to find inspiration. But can we have a moment here? Sometimes things just start to look the same. Beautiful? Absolutely. Similar? Yes. Whether you're working with a planner (and we always recommend working with a planner!) or not, begin your brainstorming session by leaving the traditional event boards behind for a bit.
Here are 3 places to look for unique inspiration.
1. Start with your favorite places. If you were to close your eyes and imagine yourself happiest and most at peace, what details come to mind? Do you have a dream vacation? Research prominent buildings or streets to find inspiring details. Take a look at this photo of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. View the curves, the structure, the natural elements, colors, variations in tones, and more. Imagine using these elements on paper goods, a custom bar front, a welcome display and more.
2. Focus on your favorites spaces. I find never ending inspiration from hotel lobbies, restaurants and spas. After all, these are some of my favorite spaces. This incredible hotel lobby can easily translate to some serious wedding style. From the bold black bar to the geometric wooden wall, these elements can set a strong foundation for a glamorous wedding.
3. Look around your most frequented haunts. Where do you eat? Why do you love the space? Do you have a hobby that takes place in a specific location? This image of Nashville's famous Pinewood Social takes hobby inspiration to the next level. Bowling never looked so chic. A dusty green welcome, with a black and white hexagon tile creates a color palette both sophisticated and unique.
